Jane Harman wishes/wished to "eradicate dissent". Scary shit.

Meet Jane Harman. She is a California Representative who wrote a bill to "eradicate dissent". This is a bill that went to the House in about October 2007. Here's a link to the actual bill. Notice that it sets out to prevent "an extremist belief system for facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change" God forbid we question the government and be passionate about our views. Also, this reduction in our right to free speech costs us each $0.20

The following are/were cosponsors/cocommunists:

Rep Carney, Christopher P. [PA-10] - 9/18/2007
Rep Christensen, Donna M. [VI] - 9/18/2007
Rep Clarke, Yvette D. [NY-11] - 9/18/2007
Rep Dent, Charles W. [PA-15] - 8/1/2007
Rep Dicks, Norman D. [WA-6] - 9/18/2007
Rep Green, Al [TX-9] - 9/18/2007
Rep Langevin, James R. [RI-2] - 9/18/2007
Rep Lofgren, Zoe [CA-16] - 9/18/2007
Rep Lowey, Nita M. [NY-18] - 9/18/2007
Rep Lungren, Daniel E. [CA-3] - 9/18/2007
Rep Perlmutter, Ed [CO-7] - 9/18/2007
Rep Poe, Ted [TX-2] - 10/3/2007
Rep Reichert, David G. [WA-8] - 4/19/2007
Rep Thompson, Bennie G. [MS-2] - 9/18/2007

Here again we've got an uneducated in history elected official. Hasn't she heard of Hitler? Stalin? Mussolini? Those people did a couple of things...besides murder millions of people....they took away the right to have guns and they made it illegal to dissent the government.

So, Jane Harman wants to do away with our 1st amendment rights. She also supports HR1022 which infringes our 2nd amendment rights. From what I understand, she's one of the most egregious violators of the constitution out there.

What I can't figure out is why, why these people choose to strip American citizens of their rights. Maybe it's because they know the laws probably won't be enforced against them or that they might even be written out of them.

“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.”
- Thomas Jefferson
