Chalk another one up for the good guys...

A Concealed Carry Permit holder in Stroudsberg, PA successfully defended himself from a 17 year old armed robber in a Wal Mart parking lot. Nicely done. Apparently he took some concealment and dropped to the ground behind his truck door, drew his weapon and fired three or so rounds into the robber's leg and foot. The robber was apprehended by police whilst trying to bury his own weapon in the dirt of the center median.

Civil Charges.....on behalf of a bear cub. WTF?

A family pet kills a bear cub that came onto their property and the owner is being charged for it's death. I'm pretty sure that's why we have dogs, to scare, maim, kill intruders on our domain. It's hard enough to get a gun in NJ, now they're probably going to ban dogs.....if it saves just one child....bear. Moronic.

Good luck on that eating thing....

Now Mrs. Obama and her party say that the "rest of us" will have to give up a little more so there can be more for those that "don't have". I was getting a hair cut while out of town and the person cutting said she was voting for Obama because then she'd have "free day car for my kids and free health care for my kids". (she had multiple kids with various fathers I gathered from the pictures and her conversation). I replied "great. . now who is going to PAY for that day care and health care?"

She looked puzzled.

I replied "I AM. So that will mean I won't get a $50 haircut, I'll get a $11 haircut somewhere else, and less often, and forget the highlights and all the rest, I won't be able to afford it any more with the increase in my taxes. So will most of your customers. So you'll make half the money and won't have money for gas to work. But Obama will get you free health care. Good luck on the eating thing"

Energy Solution - Hot Air

Harness all the hot air from the liberals of america....starting with the DNC. Just put big windmills at each door and ceiling vent so that all the hot air that is escaping that building gets used. We could become independent of ALL other energy with all that gas...

Windmills at the Democratic Convention
from The Liberty Sphere by D. Martyn Lloyd-Morgan

I have often said with regard to the present debate on oil drilling here at home that we cannot 'wind-blow' our way out of the present energy crisis. This, of course, is in response to those who claim that by placing windmills all over creation we can drum up sufficient energy to meet all of America's needs.

It would seem I am going to have to modify my stance on this issue just a tad.

With all of the hot air and wind bags at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, a few well-placed windmills could harness all of that air and wind, producing sufficient energy to meet America's needs for the next several centuries.

Obviously when I said we can't wind-blow our way out of the energy problem, I had not considered the gathering of blow-hards at the DNC.

Autonomous Sentry Weapon

This is pretty cool... A paintball sentry weapon that is fully autonomous. It be cool to have one mounted in the ceiling facing points of entry. If you could activate/deactivate it with a key fob like your door locks on your car, that'd be cool.

Quotes of the Day - Opposing Ideas style

A freshman Senator says:

"If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost."
--Barack Obama

But one of the founders said:

"Wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

Thomas Jefferson

Does Obama truly believe that this is what government is for??? or does he just want YOU to believe that so he can have a job?

Is NAMBLA supporting Barack Hussein Obama?

I don’t know if NAMBLA is supporting Barack The Baby Killer for president (and I refuse to go to their web-site to find out) but NARAL proudly supports Obama and his proposed policy, “No Child Left Behind… Unless It Is In A Soiled Linen Closet At A Hospital/Abortion Mill Associated With Trinity United.”

Images from the Democratic National Convention

Does this make any sense, "Riot 4 peace"??? Do the people with the "Brutal Empire" sign really believe they live under some sort of brutal dictatorship? Yes? Well, I have news for them, if they did....they'd be dead for carrying that sign.

On "Political Correctness".

http://speakertweaker.blogspot.com/2008/08/politically-correct.html

I am losing my mind.

I have never been, nor will I ever be, politically correct. According to Merriam-Webster, which defined the word in 1936:

politically correct (adj.): conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated

Dictionary.com goes on to mention that political correctness is codified by a "typically progressive orthodoxy" on such issues.

Bollocks.

I've had it with political correctness. It's crap. It's just another way to sugar-coat and bubble wrap a harsh and unforgiving Reality, which serves only to create a world of candy-asses who will never in a million years be prepared to face a real-world crisis. Political correctness is the last nail driven into the coffin of thousands of years of evolution that made mankind the top of the food chain in the first place.

*****************************

So I was reading up on Frank Marshall Davis after seeing his name come up in the latest Day By Day cartoon, when this phrase stopped me dead in my tracks: "Beginning at age 17, he was educated at Friends University and later at Kansas State Agricultural College without taking a degree."

Think about that for a minute. Davis went to what's now Kansas State University and was educated without taking a degree.

Fucdat. He's a college dropout. Saying he was educated without taking a degree carries as much weight as going to high school without taking a diploma. And furthermore, when you go to college, you don't TAKE a degree, YOU FUCKING EARN IT. The only way you can go to college and 'not take a degree' would be to refuse it when they hand it to you at the graduation ceremony.

This is what the world is coming to. You aren't a dropout, you just didn't take a degree. By that same rationale, you aren't selling illegal guns, you are an unlicenced gun dealer. You aren't a drug dealer, you are a non-certified pharmacist.

I will call a panhandling homeless person a bum. I will call the lady in the store who runs into me without apologizing a bitch. I will call an African-American male a black guy. I will call those who seek refuge from a hurricane refugees, and I will tell Oprah Winfrey to her face that she's a racist piece of shit.

I will refuse to call a murderer who uses a gun a gunman. I will refuse to call a gang member a disenfranchised youth. I will refuese to call a socialist a progressive democrat. And I sure as hell won't call a college dropout a guy who was educated without taking a degree.

I will call an ace an ace and a spade a spade. If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, flies like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I'm calling it a duck. I will respectfully disagree with anyone right up until they start looking down on me, and then I will tell that person they're a fucking idiot and hand them their ass in a debate.

I will stand my ground in the face of doubt, despair, or doom. I will defend myself, my family, my friends and neighbors from harm, and I will do it with the most politically incorrect item at my disposal if I must. I will stand against an oppressive government just as I stood against an oppressive bully, against unimaginable odds, and I will not stop fighting until the fight is over.

I will have words with anyone who would challenge my dignity, honesty, integrity, or ability. I will fight to preserve my good name, and hand out a severe beating to anyone who is dumb enough to step outside to receive it.

I will walk away from a fight, but I will never run.

I will say words like "fuck" or "shit" a lot, and I will try real hard not to in front of a lady.

Friend or not, if you ask my opinion, I will give it to you. I will not be hateful, but I will not lie to you. I will tell a coworker that I've known for years that he's fucking up on the job, and will tell my wife if I don't like what she's wearing (if and ONLY if she asks;).

You can be politically correct, or you can be honest. There's no in-between. Politically correct is just a half-step above liar.

Letters to Putin

From Sen. Barack Obama:

Dear (Former) President Putin:

I'm sorry to be writing this e-mail instead of meeting you in person, preferably in the Oval Office, where I belong. Soon, soon.

Nevertheless, and notwithstanding the foregoing, I felt it imperative that I express my deep concern about Russia's invasion of the tiny, democratically elected sovereign nation of Georgia. It would appear that you are not familiar with my platform for change and hope. War does not fit into this template and I am quite frankly at a loss for words to express my deep, deep distress.

As the chosen leader of a new generation of Americans who speak a global language of peace, hope, harmony and change, this is simply unacceptable. Quite frankly, your actions pose potentially severe, long-term consequences. I'm not sure what those might be, but they won't be nice or fun.

Please picture me looking very serious when I say that I respectfully request you to calm down. Life is but a flicker in time and we're but actors strutting and fretting. That is to say, we're all on this planetary journey together and our karma is interrelated and interdependent. Thus, it would seem that our differences are best resolved through words, not bombs.

It is said that war is a failure of diplomacy. I would submit that it is also counterintuitive. If my Kenyan father and my Kansan mother and my multinational upbringing taught me anything, it is that we are all One. That said, I am The One the world has been waiting for -- and you are, quite frankly, blocking my chi.

As soon as possible, I'd like to sit down and begin talking about how we can resolve these and other differences that threaten peace-loving people, which I'm sure includes you. I haven't looked into your eyes and would never presume to know your soul, but I do know that we share a common humanity and that we can all just get along.

Yours in Global Harmony,

Acting President Barack Obama

Hey, Putin.

Obama snubs America again with his upside down flag ID

Maybe the DNCC has kept track of the polling this summer and figures the Democratic nominee is officially in distress. That’s the only explanation for a silly gaffe by the convention committee for the graphics on their credentials for those allowed to see Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field. The holographic image uses an American flag motif with the blue field at the bottom, with Obama’s head emerging from it in one of the two alternating images (via the Weasel Zippers):

Obama, great orator....but, Barack, what are you talking about??

Last May, he claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

· Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”

· Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement: “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

Denver’s homeless get free haircuts to look good for Barack Hussein Obama

...Officials in Denver, worried about the impression that 50,000 visitors to the Democratic National Convention would get next week, were planning to hide the estimated 4,000 homeless people who hang around the city's downtown area.

...free haircuts to the homeless this week in preparation for the visiting crowds who'll arrive this weekend.

Add The Run Command To The Start Menu In Windows Vista

ach version of Windows has come with the oh-so-handy Run command. One thing you will likely notice when you install Windows Vista is that the Run command does not appear on the Start Menu.

The Run command is handy for quickly launching programs so it is worthwhile making a small configuration change to add it back to the Start Menu. You can quickly do so in Windows Vista by completing the simple steps listed below:

1. Right click on the Start button, and click Properties.
2. From the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog, click Customize.
3. Scroll down through the list until you shall find Run command. Check the box next to it.
4. Click OK.

What have we taken from our children? - A story by BOAB

This is a great story...about over protecting our children to the point of helplessness.

Growing up on a farm, guns were always around. My dad wasn't a shooter, they were just tools like the saws or the International H tractor. It was time to disc a field, so hook up the H. It was time to shoot some woodchucks, so take the Marlin with you. I learned to drive the tractor the same year I learned to carry the rifle. They were tools.... to be used.

I also had a farm pond to play in, but never drowned. Snapping turtles and bull frogs shared the pond with me, as well as some boyhood friends. There was a stream along the edge of the farm too.... maybe twelve feet wide and full of trout. Slippery rocks and deep pools were the norm.... and we all survived on our wits alone without a single adult warning us away.

Go read the rest and check out the pics. It's a GREAT post.

3:1 - Media time for Obama : McCain

Democrat Barack Obama has had about a 3 to 1 advantage over Republican John McCain in Post Page 1 stories since Obama became his party's presumptive nominee June 4. Obama has generated a lot of news by being the first African American nominee, and he is less well known than McCain -- and therefore there's more to report on. But the disparity is so wide that it doesn't look good.

In overall political stories from June 4 to Friday, Obama dominated by 142 to 96. Obama has been featured in 35 stories on Page 1; McCain has been featured in 13, with three Page 1 references with photos to stories on inside pages. Fifteen stories featured both candidates and were about polls or issues such as terrorism, Social Security and the candidates' agreement on what should be done in Afghanistan.

This dovetails with Obama's dominance in photos, which I pointed out two weeks ago. At that time, it was 122 for Obama and 78 for McCain. Two weeks later, it's 143 to 100, almost the same gap, because editors have run almost the same number of photos -- 21 of Obama and 22 of McCain -- since they realized the disparity. McCain is almost even with Obama in Page 1 photos -- 10 to 9.

This is not just a Post phenomenon. The Project for Excellence in Journalism has been monitoring campaign coverage at an assortment of large and medium-circulation newspapers, broadcast evening and morning news shows, five news Web sites, three major cable news networks, and public radio and other radio outlets. Its latest report, for the week of Aug. 4-10, shows that for the eighth time in nine weeks, Obama received significantly more coverage than McCain. . . .

Obama on the issues vs Obama on the issues...

Per Heilemann, America is just one big racist....

Sounds to me like HE's the bigot...

In his color-coded article, “The Color-Coded Campaign,” John Heilemann doesn’t just hint that racial prejudice will prevent Barack Obama from winning the White House. He states it directly and without equivocation. The reason America’s first black major party presumptive presidential nominee hasn’t blown out the intractably boring and uninspiring John McCain in the polls, given “surging” Democratic voter registration and voters’ disenchantment with Republicans, is his skin color.

It wouldn’t have anything to do with Obama’s liberal beliefs, inexperience, gaffes, and inconsistencies, would it? No, it’s because he’s black, says Heilemann and other liberals. Lurking just below the surface of any white person’s criticism of Barack Obama is racial bias. Heilemann’s article leaves the impression that Obama longs to take the high road and rise above such distractions; Republicans and other white people just won’t let him.

'Gun Control' is an abysmal failure....

Jay G at MArooned says:

All the gun control in the fucking world isn't going to keep guns out of the hands of the criminals. Not with millions of guns currently in circulation. Introducing "One Gun A Month" laws or "ballistic fingerprinting" bullshit won't do a single fucking thing to stop a 17 year old gangbanger from getting his hands on a gun and using it illegally.

Gun control, as it is practiced, is an abysmal failure. Plain and simple. It targets almost exclusively the most law-abiding of people; it rarely addresses the misuse of the firearm, focusing on the attachments to the weapon or the capacity of the magazine. You know, rather than actually punishing the miscreants who think it's acceptable practice to shoot a four year old child.

SOOOOOO true. I think I have talked about that "abysmal failure" at one time or another...oops, that was the war on drugs... Same bullshit. http://oflifeandliberty.blogspot.com/2008/05/abysmal-failures-1.html

Not Exactly, Obama....

http://oldnfo.blogspot.com/2008/07/obamas-not-exactly.html

Obama's not exactly...
A few 'minor' corrections to Obama's pronouncements... All verifiable via the net. Please feel free to add any that I missed, as I'm SURE this is not anywhere near a complete list!

1.) Selma Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google 'Obama Selma' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)

2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.

3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.

4) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that....and for more.Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get.

5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to Mention that no Christian religion would allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man, except Mormons.

6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.Barack Hussein. Obama is not half black. If elected, Obama would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro).

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office. 4-3-08 Article 'Obama was 'quite religious.'

8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book). February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.

9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.

10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn't even speak the language. What did you learn, how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.

11.) I'm Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.

12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine.

13.) An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

15.) I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are. Despite saying live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.

16.) Voting 'Present' is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.

17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.

18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn't write it, introduce it, change it, or create it.

21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.

22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.

The rest....if you need anymore.....at http://oldnfo.blogspot.com/2008/07/obamas-not-exactly.html

23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.

24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens . You failed to mention anyone else but yourself, in your books.

25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.

26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.

Obama, the pied piper...

Why I carry a gun....

This is Bear on a Bike's take on why to carry a gun.

I carry a weapon because it is the moral thing to do. It meets with my definition of doing ‘right’. Being prepared to defend myself and loved ones is part of being a responsible person.

Please allow me to explain…

I believe people have a ‘moral obligation’ to take responsibility for themselves, not leaving the task as a burden to others. I know this may not be a popular concept in some circles, but that does not change it as my belief. I know we are laden with entire generations of people who honestly think they bear no responsibility for their own safety, wellbeing, and actions.

Firm grasp on deadly force and so much more

This man has a firm grasp on what it means to not only draw against someone, but to shoot and kill them, in defense of his own life and the lives of others. He also has a firm grasp on what it means (or used to mean) to be an American. It means that you stand up for other Americans, especially when they can't stand up for themselves. This man pulled over to when he saw a guy cut off and block in a woman in with his car and then beat her, physically, through her window. The violence escalated very quickly and the man ended up fearing for his own life and shooting the aggressor. He could have just kept on driving that day, gone home and enjoyed the rest of his day. But no, he stopped to HELP someone. THAT is the American way. I would have done the same thing. How do you stand by while a man beats a woman? How do people think that just calling 911 is going to solve the problem. It might take 30 minutes for a cop to get there....or more! Read the entire story here and let me know what you think.

The injury and death rate is higher for cheerleading than football. Baseball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis and golf also very risky.

16,ooo injuries a year to women in cheerleading. No, I did NOT put too many zeros on that.

The rate for collegiate competitive shooting? Zero. What do you think the injury rate for shooting pistols with Breda is? It's in NEGATIVE numbers.

That's as in: none. Null. Less than .000%

For heavens sake get your kid into a Junior State Rifle team program pronto! Or at least 4-H! Any kid with an assault rifle, a smallbore pistol and several hundred rounds of ammo is safer than some girl with braces and pom-poms! Give them sunblock and some hi-cap mags. Forget those tennis raquets and softball gloves!

Remember the Kid? First time TSRA Junior shooter at Camp Perry. 10 days with a couple thousand heavily armed people around him. Came home without a scuff and learned to run his own firing point and target. He was safer than he was at home riding around the neighborhood on a skateboard. That's the ticket, right there.

Another trick up Obama's sleeve....

How do people still worship this POS when he treats his followers like this:

Obama campaign switches rules on raffle for those who want to attend his acceptance speech
from John Lott's Website: NRA's *Armed Citizen* Column for February 2005 by John Lott
Over at the WSJ's Political Diary, John Fund writes on Obama's demands that people who want to attend his acceptance speech volunteer time to Obama's campaign:

Now we may know why Barack Obama's campaign decided to move his acceptance speech to Denver's 75,000-seat Invesco Field -- the better to extort hours of volunteer campaign labor out of thousands of people clamoring for tickets to the big event.

Denver media outlets were full of complaints yesterday from people who had entered a lottery for tickets to the Obama speech but were told reservations for the event would come with a catch -- they must contribute six hours of volunteer labor for the campaign no later than this coming Friday in order to secure a coveted seat.

"I got a call that if I want the tickets, I have to volunteer two shifts of three hours apiece -- for one ticket. If I want two tickets, then it's four shifts of two hours apiece," Berenice Christensen told Denver's ABC-TV affiliate. Ms. Christensen says she still wants the tickets, but feels victimized by the bait-and-switch. "I mean, they made it seem like any Coloradoan could go, and now you have to work for your ticket."

The Obama campaign says it's all a big misunderstanding and nobody has to work in order to get a ticket. People who were asked to volunteer were only those who had checked a box on a Web site saying they were willing to work on the campaign thus becoming eligible for "All Star" tickets closer to the stage, says Stephanie Mueller, a campaign spokeswoman.

But several people who've been asked to volunteer insist they made no such pledge.

"Absolutely not," Heather Kreider of Centennial told the Rocky Mountain News, denying she had offered to volunteer when seeking a ticket. Another man, who declined to give his name, said he received a message informing him that he had to perform 12 hours of phone calling or precinct work for two tickets. He called the campaign's tactics "blackmail." . .

Energy crisis could be solved (or at least helped tremendously) by legalizing hemp...

ENERGY CRISIS: Ford And Diesel Never Intended Cars To Use Gasoline

When Henry Ford told a New York Times reporter that ethyl alcohol was "the fuel of the future" in 1925, he was expressing an opinion that was widely shared in the automotive industry. "The fuel of the future is going to come from fruit like that sumach out by the road, or from apples, weeds, sawdust -- almost anything," he said. "There is fuel in every bit of vegetable matter that can be fermented. There's enough alcohol in one year's yield of an acre of potatoes to drive the machinery necessary to cultivate the fields for a hundred years."

Henry Ford's first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONSTRUCTED FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, 'grown from the soil,' had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941.

click info

Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, designed it to run on vegetable and seed oils like hemp; he actually ran the thing on peanut oil for the 1900 World's Fair. Henry Ford used hemp to not only construct cars but also fuel them.

As an alternative to methanol, hemp has at least one glowing report: the plant produces up to four times more cellulose per acre than trees. And a hemp crop grows a little quicker than a forest.

As for an alternative to petroleum...

Hemp grows like mad from border to border in America; so shortages are unlikely. And, unlike petrol, unless we run out of soil, hemp is renewable.

Growing and harvesting the stuff has much less environmental impact than procuring oil.

Hemp fuel is biodegradable; so oil spills become fertilizer not eco-catastrophes.

Hemp fuel does not contribute to sulfur dioxide air poisoning.

Other noxious emissions like carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons are radically slashed by using "biodiesel.

Hemp fuel is nontoxic and only a mild skin irritant; anybody who,s ever cleaned out an old carburetor with gasoline can confirm the same is not true for petrol.

Growing hemp for fuel would be a tremendous boon for American farmers and the agricultural industry, as opposed to people like, say, the Bush family.

SLOTHFUL Democrat

I love that when you google "slothful democrat" my blog is the first one to appear.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=slothful%20democrat See?

See what the NBRA thinks of Obama...

So, in emailing back and forth with my neighbor, I did a little research. My research was about Martin Luther King being a Republican. I wonder if my friend knows that. If not, he does now. Anyway, I found the website of the National Black Republican Association. They have a newsletter called, "Which Candidate is best for African Americans?" and it's about Obama vs McCain.

Here's the Newsletter

"Obama has done little to help blacks. Obama claims to care about poor blacks, but he has a dismal record. He promises to raise the minimum wage, but he voted against the minimum wage bill that was finally passed in Congress. Obama was a “community organizer” in Chicago. If his messianic message of “Hope” and “Change” is so powerful, why are poor blacks in Chicago still poor? Socialism does not work."

"We need the right president, not just a black president."

"● All Americans received tax cuts under
Bush’s tax cut plan—108 million average
families received $2,500. Over 3.8 million
more poor people were freed from the tax
rolls entirely, and poor blacks received an
additional gift of $1,000 per child plus $1,658
per family under the Earned Income Tax
Credit program. “Tax cuts for the rich” is a
deceptive Democratic Party talking point."

There are MANY more like this. I highly recommend you read it...

Here's the Newsletter again

HOW TO SAVE THE GOVERNMENT MILLIONS - An exercise in non partisan thinking.

A president's pension currently is $191,300 per year. Assuming the next
president lives to age 80. Sen McCain would receive ZERO pension as he would
reach 80 at the end of two terms as president. Sen Obama would be retired
for 26 years after two terms and would receive $4,973,800 in pension.
Therefore it would certainly make economic sense to elect McCain in
November.

How's that for non partisan thinking???

H/T Gunny Wills

Crack - The breakfast of HopeChangers everywhere....

...even in my backyard. Ok, so maybe that's an ad hominem....but it's a fairly easy one to put together....see this link Felons for Obama

I, personally, don't care if people use drugs, especially if they don't have kids or anyone that depends on them. Just do your drugs in YOUR house.

A friend who has forgotten liberty/freedom....

A neighbor friend of mine has been misled. He has fallen into the "hopechange" trap. I sent out an email about "The Failure of Gun Control" And this is what he sent back.

His First Response

Please do email me blog with a list of ignorant people who post there republican views

these are the facts
1. If you ever voted for Bush your not very smart and you are apart of the problem.
2. The world hates the US and that needs to Change
3. Everyone talks about Obama and the lack of experience but McCain has been in the senate for 20 yrs and he has Changed shit, he's part of the problem.
4.I know your probably going to vote for someone like Bob Barr or Ron Paul and that just shows your cluelessness.
5. I'm a veteran of a foreign war and i have seen first hand the governments bullshit the wasteful spending on shit we don't need and the lack of shit we do need that needs to Change.
6. We don't need anymore guns they said for years that it was our right but our right was to bear arms not until recently has it changed to firearms. THIS IS THE WRONG KIND OF CHANGE WE NEED.
7. Obama is someone new and someone this country needs when people post dumb shit like is what on that blog it just pisses me off.
8. Also when a guy shoots and kills two people in there back for robbing their neighbor's house and doesn't get convicted, that's wrong.
9. This country is shit and needs to change and why do I stay because I fought for it and I've earned the right to stay. It's so to complain about shit and not be einvolved with anything.
10. I,m voting for Obama because I don't want my kids to go to Iraq. I don't want my kids to think that going to war on credit is the way to go running up debt with countries like China. I don't even want have kids cause future looks bleak and that's because of Bush politics.

My response:

1. Voting for someone doesn't make you smart or dumb. Making personal attacks gets us nowhere and is purely emotional. Emotions are what is fueling Obama's campaign and little else.

2. I don't really care what the world thinks. We can survive without the world. That's the beauty of the US....we could be entirely self sufficient.

3. McCain isn't the answer to all of our problems....just the Obama problem.

4. Cluelessness is not realizing that Ron Paul stands for Freedom and Liberty for the people, just like the founding fathers. Again, making personal attacks gets us nowhere and is purely emotional.

5. The "Change" you speak of is emotional, not realistic. Let's get some REAL goals other than, "CHANGE". that's just one word.

6. We DO need more guns. Guns make people safe. That report that I sent proves just that. We need less government oppression. More freedom (like used to have) What we DON'T need more of is criminals on the streets. We need to fix our CRIMINAL problem...not our "gun problem". If you remember, guns are what gave us freedom in the beginning. Freedom from British government oppression. I'm not sure what you mean by "recently" but we've been bearing FIREARMS to protect home, family, and self for over 200 years.

7. Dumb shit like what? I don't know which blog you mean. Just peoples' ideas aren't in line with yours doesn't make them dumb, just different. Liberals are so quick to make ad hominem attacks that they forget to judge the content...the real issue. The blogs I read are mostly of libertarian and real conservative ideals. I don't see how Freedom and Liberty are dumb shit.

8. First....that's ONE guy out of 350 million. So, that's hardly anything less than a strawman argument. Second, I think it sends a good message to the shitbags of the world...if you want to steal my shit...you might get shot. We need to do more of that....telling shitholes that their crimes won't be tolerated. What is done in most states now is to let them know that they'll get off easy with little or no sentence whatsoever and to keep on keepin' on.

9. This country, even in it's current state, is still the best country in the world. It's the one that more people flock to every year to flee oppression and whatever else. So, I'd say you're wrong....at least in the eyes of all of those people, and me. I'm complaining....that's my involvement. I write to congress and the senate. I let these politicians know what I think of their policies. I buy stock in companies who work on alternative fuel solutions. I am involved. I write and reach out to people. I try to spread a message of Freedom and Liberty, the things out country was founded on....not welfare and socialism. The beauty of America is that you don't have to earn the right to stay. You just stay...for an example look at all the 10-20 million illegal immigrants that are here. Many of them haven't earned shit....but they stay.

10. It's your right to vote for whomever you choose....for whichever reasons. But if that reason is that our country is "shit" because of "Bush Politics" then you're way off base. Remember, he's only been in office for 7 years. He couldn't have had enough influence to have crushed America into "shit". You can easily go back and look at all the people who have started wars.....almost all are democrats. If you want your kids (or whoever's kids) to not have a bleak future, Obama's the wrong guy. The spending under Obama will almost double. The problem with that is he's not going to collect enough tax to cover that spending...ending in more deficit.

The problem with the groupies that are oohing and aaahing over Obama is that they just aren't really paying attention to anything other than his pretty looks and his fancy pre written speeches. This guy is as fiscally liberal as they get. He will spend us into a bigger whole than any war. He is the most liberal politician in Washington. He has been praised by the Communist Party USA and keeps company with militant crazies and terrorists. That should really make people think. But, you might just not know that if you watch the news....they've really yet to talk about his bad stuff....only HOPECHANGE. Just two words. People are just taking him at his word....without looking into what he's saying. They/you are just being led. Hell, if you want a good liberal....vote for McCain.

His Response:
From what you write it seems like you know whats going on but, didn't you vote for BUSH in 2000, come one now. People need to come out of the dark and look to the future. What is it that makes Obama a problem, is it the fact that people see greatness in him and want to follow him like Robert and John F Kennedy or is his speeches too good like Martin Luther King. Those men were loved by people in this country and hated by people with your same views you've never been to war, you've never lead men into battle or lead anyone at all, you never been on welfare you never been called racist names growing up.So what do you really know about this country and who needs to lead it. I lead over 30 men in Iraq and now I lead 20 men at the [PLACE OF BUSINESS] and I'm a good leader and good leader recognize great leaders and Obama will be a great leader.

My Response:

I've never voted for Bush. You ASSUME I voted for Bush because I'm pro gun. And maybe because I'm white. But, I never voted for Bush. Bush is no friend to Liberty but he has done a couple good things. Now, a couple good things in 8 years isn't very good. So, as he's a lame duck, we don't need to talk about him.

Now, if the problem with Obama was "greatness" and that's the problem I had with him....Yes, I'd be dumb. I don't see greatness though. I see someone who changes his views constantly. I see someone who emasculates our great country to garner support from other countries (Germany, et al). I see a pretty face in tight jeans but not much else. Obama wishes to socialize America. We've seen in the past that socialism DOES NOT WORK. Obama wishes to boost government programs, thus growing government to a size we've never seen before. Freedom/Liberty comes from less government and the ability to be left alone. If I want to use oil, let me. He proposes to have the country off oil in ten years......it's impossible. IMPOSSIBLE. Yes, alternative energy is a good idea....but so is getting out from the fingers of OPEC and drilling for our own oil. Obama proposes to "fix our soul". WTF right does the government have to my soul??? NONE. As much as you will hate to....go through my blog and read my posts about Obama. You might even see some stuff you agree with.
YES, we need some "change". But, is giving our terrorists in captivity the same constitutional rights as you and I have the change we need?? We've forgotten how to be Americans amidst all this division and bickering. Even though we don't think alike, we have things in common...Like, being American. Your father came from an oppressive African regime. I'm sure being free in America is the biggest gift he's ever been given. But that's all we get....to be free. The rest is up to us, individually. In times past, if a man didn't work get his food (hunt/gather)....he starved, but he was free. Freedom is just that....the right to build wealth and prosper....or to die a lonely miserable poor death. That is freedom. Freedom isn't having someone else buy my food. Freedom isn't having someone else buy my medicine. Why? Because SOMEONE has to do the paying...and that means that their freedoms have been infringed upon.

I am sure that America is ready for a black president and there are many highly respected and imminently qualified to assume the office, I don't believe that Obama is one of them though. It wouldn't matter if he was Korean, Hispanic, black or white, he and what he believes in are not going to be good for Americans of any race.

I don't wish to take away from your service to our great nation in ONE BIT. You served, that's awesome and I offer you thanks for doing so. But, think about what you served for....you served to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States and Obama wants to trample it. I don't need to lead men or have lead men to tell you what I can see in front of my eyes. Hell, by that measure, you'd be voting for McCain anyway. He was a commissioned officer who lead all sorts of people. Also, he has actually sponsored/written bills that have become law. I don't necessarily agree with some of them, but they exist. What has Obama done?

"Obama has done little to help blacks. Obama claims to care about poor blacks, but he has a dismal record. He promises to raise the minimum wage, but he voted against the minimum wage bill that was finally passed in Congress. Obama was a “community organizer” in Chicago. If his messianic message of “Hope” and “Change” is so powerful, why are poor blacks in Chicago still poor? Socialism does not work."
http://www.trustedpartner.com/docs/library/000143/NBRA%20Newsletter%20-%20Obama%20v%20McCain.pdf - Page 6

How do you know I've never been on welfare??? How do you know my parents didn't struggle and toil for our food? As I remember it, my parents worked their ass off to put food on our table, but if they ever had to get some welfare or assistance or whatever they never told me, that would have been shameful to them so they never told me. Now, I understand that you might have gotten assistance, and then your mom worked her ass off to bring you up out of that. That's great...that's why it's there. But there are millions of people of all races/creeds that abuse that system. Again, assumptions are usually emotional and get us nowhere.

Actually, I did get called names and what not. I lived in an area that was especially Korean. They spoke Korean around me...so I don't know what they were saying. Maybe good, maybe bad. I don't know, but it was definitely alienating. My dad moved his family from Long Beach because they were being threatened by the local thugs/gangsters....because they're white. So, it happens everywhere to lots of people. Don't do yourself the disservice of thinking/assuming that you're the only one. I think it should be something people (of all races) should strive to overcome and rise above...not use as a crutch. Now, I am not presuming to have had the same amount of racism cast my direction and I fully understand the plight of blacks in American history. I don't wish to downplay that at all. But, we're all freemen now and we should all strive to be the best, freest, most liberty enjoying Americans we can. And that means voting against Obama. Just because he promises "Change" doesn't mean it's going tobe change we need/want.

I think the difference between the people you mentioned and Obama is principle. Obama lacks principle. He'll tell you that shit is blue if it will get him elected.

Besides.....MLK was a republican.

I guess people are just ignorant of the fact that we already drill for oil in our oceans. I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and as long as I can remember we had oil rigs off our shores. Didn't bother me. DelDem mentioned (see link above) that there was a spill or something about 40 years ago.... I don't know if there was or not but I'm sure the technology has progressed by leaps and bounds in that amount of time. Her(his?) retort was one of "not in my backyard". Murder, Inc. for Gun Control - Associates of the Brady Bunch

H/T to Ahab

Gallatin, TN Police Dept steals peoples' property...

This type of story makes me sick. Quick story, you can read the full one here. Guy has a CCW. Gets pulled over in Gallatin, TN. Cops computer says his CCW is cancelled (but shouldn't be). Cop is polite, partner is a dick. Gets a ticket for carrying without a permit. Cop takes gun. Guy gets situation solved. Judge absolves him of any wrongdoing. Now.....get this......they still won't give him his gun back. He's fully legal, the gun is clean, and they won't give it back. Has someone made his gun their own? Is it that easy to just steal evidence/property?

Here's the full story. If you blog, please put this up on yours. This deserves attention.

The Failure of Gun Control

According to figures supplied by the National Safety Council, a person is approximately 8 times as likely to choke, 6 times as likely to drown, 36 times as likely to die from poisoning, and 78 times as likely to die in an automobile accident as by a firearm accident.

Munchkin Wrangler talks about the affect that the aversion to righteous self defense by the government creates... It's a sad state of affairs in the UK and it's coming to a street near you.

Here's the link to the full story...and a quote:

Gun control proponents talk about preventing “gun crime”, but they don’t care about the crime, only about the guns. They talk about the innocent victims of shootings, but they are willing to write off people like my friend Mark as “collateral damage”, an acceptable trade-off for not having those icky guns and knives around. Better to have productive and law-abiding citizen being beaten up and robbed, than to see the attackers driven off by someone with a gun. That’s what they really mean when they use the mantra “If it only saves one life“. It doesn’t work in reverse, you see.

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign
today released a new video entitled "The Obama Iraq Documentary: Whatever
the Politics Demand." Examining his many statements on Iraq over the last
several years, the video is a timeline of Barack Obama's political
positioning on the most critical national security issue America faces
today. As the video concludes, Barack Obama's positions on Iraq are shaped
by "whatever the politics demand."

CHYRON: The Obama Iraq Documentary

CHYRON: Where Does Barack Obama Stand On Iraq?

CHYRON: Said The Surge Would Make Things Worse

BARACK OBAMA (1/10/07): "I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional
troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I
think it will do the reverse."

CHYRON: Said He Always Said The Surge Will Make Things Better

BARACK OBAMA (1/5/08): "And I said at the time, when I opposed the
surge, that given how wonderfully our troops perform, if we place 30,000
more troops in there, then we would see an improvement in the security
situation and we would see a reduction in the violence."

CHYRON: Translation: You're Never Wrong If You Pretend You Gave The
Right Answer All Along

CHYRON: Predicted That The Surge Would Fail

BARACK OBAMA (10/22/06): "Given the deteriorating situation, it is
clear at this point that we cannot, through putting in more troops or
maintaining the presence that we have, expect that somehow the situation is

CHYRON: For Immediate Withdrawal

BARACK OBAMA (9/12/07): "So let me be clear. There is no military
solution in Iraq. There never was. The best way to protect our security and
to pressure Iraq's leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately
begin to remove our combat troops. Not in six months or one year, but now."

BARACK OBAMA (3/19/08): "In order to end this war responsibly, I
will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. We can responsibly
remove one to two combat brigades each month. If we start with the number of
brigades we have in Iraq today, we can remove all of them in 16 months."

BARACK OBAMA (5/2/08): "When I promise that we are going to bring
this war in Iraq to a close in 2009, I want the American people to
understand that I opposed this war in 2002, 2003, '04, '05, '06 and '07, so
you can have confidence that I will be serious about ending this war."

CHYRON: Against Immediate Withdrawal

ANCHOR (4/5/04): "You've said you thought troops should be

execute the rebuilding and reconstruction process effectively and properly
and I don't think we should have an artificial deadline when to do that."

BARACK OBAMA (6/21/06): "A hard and fast, arbitrary deadline for

region, insufficient flexibility to implement that strategy."
